Compassion and Love Until Death Do Us Part

Compassion and Love Until Death Do Us Part

Compassion and love are two of the fundamental parts of the positive thinking process. Just think for a moment, when have you not had compassion for someone, something, or a pet.

Love and Compassion Are They Significant Traits

According to Wikipedia:

  • Compassion motivates people to go out of their way to relieve the physical, mental, or emotional pains of others and themselves. Compassion is often regarded as being sensitive to the emotional aspects of the suffering of others.
  • Love encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasure. An example of this range of meanings is that love of a mother differs from the love of a spouse, which differs from the love for food. Most commonly, love refers to a feeling of strong attraction and emotional attachment.

Does Compassion Begin with the Start of Your Life?

In fact, it encircles you from the day you are born until the day you leave this world. Obviously, when you are born you do not know what feelings are. Although the people around you do.

Therefore, I would like to share two scenarios with you to ponder on.

Scenario 1: Major Health Issue

Lets say, you were just born, and something is just not right with your health. There are all kind of medical machines around you. Everyone seems to be hustling about in some kind of urgency.

In addition to the major health issues, the nurses and doctors involved are worried. It is a very emotional experience for everyone including the nurses and doctors. They are expressing their feeling of compassion to you and your family members.

Scenario 2: Suffering from a Rash

In this scenario, since most babies do not have major health issues at birth. Many babies do at some point suffer from diaper rash. It is likely that their loving mother, caretaker, or a family member would feel compassion for the baby who was suffering from the rash.

Love Yourself - Be the Best You Can Be

First of all, throughout time the word love has been freely used in our daily lives. Love has been used to describe the way we see things in the world. It defines part of our emotions.

Moreover, it is essential to the process of positive thinking. Especially in describing your vision for your future.

Here are some of the values you will need to start your positive thinking journey.

  • You must love yourself
  • Have respect for others and yourself
  • Be honest and understanding
  • Always be compassionate
Love

Consequently, becoming the “best you can be” requires defining what you love about yourself and what drives you to what you want and do. Loving yourself is the critical component of becoming your best self.

Tell-Tale Signs of Being in Love

Loving Relationships

Besides, when you are in a relationship with someone and how you feel about yourself reflects on how successful that unity will be.

It does not matter what race, creed, man, or woman is your partner.

Relationships require self-giving, love, and willingness to dedicate yourself to each other. The couples that have long term relationships have committed themselves entirely by loving each other;

  • In good times
  • Contrary times
  • Overlooking flaws
  • and forgiving each other.

A Story of Compassion and Love

This story is being dedicated to my late husband. He was the most kind and loving person that meant the world to me.

The story I am about to share will talk about, love, compassion, commitment, and the strength a relationship can endure.

Family, Love, Compassion

Our story begins when I received a call from my daughter saying grandma is extremely sick and we need you here. It was a big decision that had to be discussed with my family. Knowingly,  I had to go out of state with no idea how long I would be gone.

My Family’s compassion towards the situation was so thoughtful and loving. They told me to leave immediately. After packing my bags, I went to my mother’s bedside. I didn’t realize how sick she was.

The time seemed to go by fast. The years seemed to slip away while I stayed to help my mother and daughter. Those are moments in time that can change the world around you, if you let it.

We survived the ordeal by having a strong open communication. Also having an undying love for each other.

Although we had to have two separate lives. My husband and I made sure to see each other whenever possible, talk on the phone and never end a call without saying “I Love You.”

Voices of My Inner Soul

What I will say, if I had only known that my husband was going to leave this earth early in life. Truly, I am not sure what would have changed, if anything. In life we must understand that the challenges that come our way, are there for a reason. Even though we might not understand at that moment. We learn and grow from the obstacles and challenges to who we become today and in the future.

Both love and compassion go hand in hand. They are the voices of your inner self. My husband and I had a happy, loving, compassionate, understanding life of 30+ years, he was my soulmate to everlasting eternity. I miss my husband, there is never a day he is not in my thoughts.

In closing, compassion and love are two equally important traits because they affect your emotional wellbeing, mental health, and your affection for others in all aspects of your life.

Are You Willing to Truly Give of Yourself for Love?

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.”

    1. Julie, Thank you so very much for your interest in my topics and writings. In today’s times people seem to be trying to be what they think society wants instead of being their true selves, that’s my opinion. I feel if I can inspire someone with my knowledge, wisdom and experiences then I have done my purpose in life. My parents gave me inspiration throughout my life and now I’m giving it back to who ever may need it. Always Remember to “Grasp Life in the Moment”.
