Faith is an ambiguous word that is used throughout our lives. Those who believe in God, or a higher power equate it to a religious belief, whereas others equate it to a firm belief that has no tangible evidence for it.
Is Faith Important in Our Lives?
It is the word faith in positive thinking that keeps us on track in our lives by keeping us open to the possibility of positive outcomes. I would like to share with you, faith examples for you to review and give thought to.
Having faith, I know my baby will come today!
Today I will change my life, I have faith!
I have faith it will be a wonderful day!
I will succeed when applying positive thinking, I have faith!
Two wise and important people in my life, my parents, have taught me the value of faith in every aspect of my life.
They inspired me to be the best person I could be. Their encouragement helped me to have faith that I would overcome any challenges and it would bring me contentment in my life.

An Emotional Cold Stormy Night
Let us take a moment to go back in time to a cold stormy winter of 1979 when I was pregnant with my first child. Since, I had been driven to the hospital three or four times in anticipation of my baby’s arrival. In which, it was emotionally and physically challenging.Â
My mother decided to come stay with me the day before New Year’s Eve, due to the “Emergency Weather Alert” issued. As moms will do, they tend to tell you what you should or should not do.
You must understand that they are doing it with love from the goodness of their hearts. They mean well, even if you cannot see their good and kind jester, in the moment.
Emotional Challenges with Your Parent
Well, my mom begins to suggest I clean my house. She was following me around, telling me to do this and to do that.Â
On the contrary, you must understand that my house was positively clean, the baby was coming soon, and everything was ready.
For the life of me I could not believe what I was hearing. I finally said “Mom, why are you persisting I do these things.” I was feeling so negative towards her nagging.
She begins to explain, you need to do exercises like house cleaning to make the baby come. Well, she was right, at 3:00am the baby started to come. We lived in a country area, so we had to decide which of two hospitals was the safest to drive to since they were fourteen miles away in either direction.
Having Faith in a Snow Storm
The storm was like a blizzard. There was a foot of snow on the ground, and it was still coming down. In all her wisdom, my mother repeatedly instilled positive thoughts in me. Along with reiterating the words “I have faith we will get to the hospital safely.” I had to believe in her faith that we were going to get there, it was treacherous out. It was no joy ride getting to the hospital. We did arrive safe after driving for an hour.
Although my mother’s suggestions had challenged and upset me earlier in the day, her caring thoughts, and guidance were highly appreciated. My beautiful baby daughter was born seven hours later. I was a proud new mother, and my mom was happy as a lark to be a grandmother.
In closing, having faith, being grateful, and appreciative for what you have is what drives you in life. No matter what may happen, you should remain optimistic that you can overcome your challenges.
