Moral Values and Principals, What Role Do They Play?
Moral values are principles that guide your behavior and decision-making. They play a significant role in shaping your life and the lives of those around you. Your morals determine what you consider right and wrong. In fact, they can have a profound effect on your relationships, careers, and overall well-being.Â
When you act in accordance with your morals, you tend to feel a sense of pride and fulfillment. Then you will be confident in your decisions and can hold your heads high because knowingly you have acted with integrity. On the other hand, when you act against your morals, often you will experience guilt, shame, or regret. These negative emotions can take a toll on your mental health and lead to a sense of dissatisfaction with your life.
The morals you have also influence the way you interact with others. When you have strong moral principles, you are more likely to treat others with respect, kindness, and empathy. Also, you are more likely to stand up for what you believe in, even in the face of opposition or adversity.

Moral Values and Integrity in the Workplace.
In the workplace, morals can play a significant role in our success. Employers value employees who demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a strong work ethic. Therefore these qualities can lead to greater opportunities for advancement and a more fulfilling career.Â
I am going to share a story about how being committed to your morals in the workplace can affect your life. Many years ago, I worked for a company and due to circumstances within the company, we needed to hire someone for a secretarial position.

My Story of Friendship, Morals and Integrity

One day while I was talking with a friend, she told me she was looking for a job. With this in mind, I explained to her that the company I worked for was looking to hire someone. I would speak to my boss and let her know.Â
My boss said it would be okay to hire her if she was the right person for the job.
So I called her to explain that I would be her supervisor and our friendship would come second.
Let us call her Mary for this story. Mary said she understood, and she was hired. A few weeks down the line while we were taking a break and talking. Mary blurts out that she does not understand how I get every job I apply for and I keep the positions for many years. She said, she went to college and made something of herself with a degree. On the contrary, you never did go to college and you always got the best positions.
Hence, I was flabbergasted by her statement. All these years, I had no knowledge that she resented me. I said, but Mary, I have always had integrity wherever I work, keep my morals in check and never let my personal life affect my job. The rest of day did not go well.
Integrity and Moral Responsibility
Well, I tried to forgive her for her statement. I knew she was having personal troubles. As the week prolonged her resentment kindled towards me to where my boss told me I had to fire her. While having the discussion with my boss, I told him that she was my friend and I am not sure I can do that. He told me it was my job and I needed to do so. As a result, I went to Mary and told her that her actions had gone against the integrity and morals of the company, and she was fired.
It was the toughest thing I had to do. The saddest part of this story is she stopped talking with me since that day, many years ago. Truly, I miss my friend. Sometimes staying strong on your moral beliefs may not be easy but do not let anyone try to change you or the way you live your life. Make sure to keep your integrity by maintaining your self-worth and self-confidence. We all must take ownership of our actions.

5 Morals Strategies
To make morals a part of your everyday life, here are five valuable strategies:
- Define your values: Take some time to reflect on what values are important to you and write them down. This will help you stay focused and make decisions that align with your morals.
- Practice empathy: Try to understand other people’s perspectives and respect their differences, even if you do not agree with them. This can help you make decisions that are fair and just.
- Act with integrity: Always try to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. This can help you build trust with others and feel good about yourself.
- Be mindful: Take time to reflect on your actions and the impact they have on others. This can help you make better decisions and avoid behaviors that conflict with your morals.
- Seek feedback: Ask for feedback from others on how you are doing in living up to your values. This can help you identify areas for improvement and stay accountable to your moral compass.
Overall, our morals shape our lives in countless ways. By staying true to our principles and acting with integrity, we can lead more fulfilling lives and positively impact those around us.

Magan, Thank you so very much for your interest in my topics, writings and I appreciate your compassion in regards to my friend. I miss her dearly. We both growing up had no siblings so at one point were like sisters. When you loose someone in your inner circle no matter why, you go through grieving process. Which is a whole different topic that I have wrote about in a prior blog post. Always Remember to “Grasp Life in the Moment.
